Huge thanks to all those who helped organise such a fun New Years Eve bash. Merthyr Cynog-ers certainly welcomed 2016 in true style! Special thanks to Gaynor Morgan AKA Baby Spice) who really went out of her way to make sure the evening was a real success. Here’s a word from the lady herself:
A huge heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped with and attended last nights NYE party, it was a great success and fantastically supported by our community and beyond. Special thanks to the band, Geraint Phillips, George Cooper, Chris Davies, Johnathan Davies and Brian Cuddy, Pontfaen YFC for the generous contribution towards the disco, Kirsty Williams for judging the fancy dress competition, John Davies & family for providing the prizes, helping set up and clear up, Sioned Davies for barmaid and taxi driving services, Andrew Ty Cerrig fairy lighting engineering services, the Hall Committee for use of the venue and providing our licence, Mark Weller for finding our DJ, Troch for running the bar whilst gamely wearing a very dubious outfit (his harness has gone missing incase anyone happens to come across it!) and finally, to my partner in crime Jackie Davies for voicing the idea one Saturday morning in November as we stripped a bed, and for continued assistance together with Chris Davies in the plotting of the party since then!
